Wool Sales Catalogue 10/2026
published 29 Oct 2026
The majority of the offering consisted of long length, fine micron wools, with 50,6% of the merino wools on offer being sustainably certified.
Although the market was somewhat cushioned by a weaker SA currency, the market continued to shed some of its gains from the previous season, whilst still maintaining significantly higher price levels than the corresponding sale of the 2025/26 season. An overall sales clearance of 91,6 % was achieved on today’s sale.
The all-merino indicator closed down by 3,4% on R233,55 p/kg, with the certified indicator declining by 2,9% to close on R240,00 p/kg.
A highest price of R373,10 p/kg (clean) (R284,00 p/kg greasy) was paid for a single bale lot of 15,3-micron merino wool.
The Australian market, which was characterized by high passed in rates, retracted considerably this week and closed down by 3,5 % (AU$) from their previous sale held on Wednesday, 21 October.
Please note that the large percentage decline in reported wool receivals so far this season reflects delays in deliveries to brokers’ stores, with volumes expected to normalise later in the season.
The major buyers on today’s sale were Tianyu SA (1 224), Standard Wool SA (1 009), BKB Pinnacle Fibres (951) and Stucken & Co (701).
The next sale will take place on 3 November 2026, where approximately 7 696 bales will be on offer.
