Wool Sales Catalogue 31/2025

The 31st sale of the 2025/2026 wool season took place this week, with a total offering of 6 764 bales, with an overall sales clearance of 94,25%.

The offering mainly consisted of fine micron wools, with 70% testing 20 micron and finer and 57,4% of the merino wools on offer being certified.

Despite the Rand weakening against the US$, the market remained steady.

The all-merino indicator weakened by 0,3% to close at R263,96 p/kg and the certified indicator gained 0,3% to close on R271,24 p/kg.

A highest price of R346,88 p/kg (clean) (R249,10 p/kg greasy) was paid for a single bale lot of 18,1-micron merino wool.

The Australian market decreased by 0,53%(AUS$) from the previous auction held on 6 May 2026.

The major buyers on today’s sale were G Modiano SA (1 338), Standard Wool SA (1 273), Tianyu SA (1 104) and BKB Pinnacle Fibres (784).

The next sale will be held on 20 May 2026, when approximately 5 226 bales will be on offer.
