Wool Sales Catalogue 07/25
published 09 Oct 2025

he 7th sale of the 2025/26 wool season took place this week, with an offering of 7 792 bales.

The offering mainly consisted of longer length, fine micron wools, with 60,8% of the merino wools offered being sustainably certified.

The market could unfortunately not retain all of the excellent gains from the previous week and followed the correction experienced in the Australian market this week.

Finer micron merino fleece wools attracted better competition and a good overall sales clearance of 96,27% was achieved on this week’s sale.

The All-merino indicator shed 4,2% to close on R209,54 p/kg and the certified indicator declined by 4,5% to close on R214,71 p/kg.

A highest price of R276,58 p/kg was paid for a single bale lot of 17,8-micron merino wool.

The Australian market, which was characterized by high passed-in rates, retracted by 2,7% (AU$) this week, compared to their previous sale held on Wednesday, 1 October.

The major buyers on this week's sale were G Modiano SA (1 742), Standard Wool SA (1 319), BKB Pinnacle Fibres (1 296) and Stucken & Co (1 078).

The next sale will be held on 15 October 2025 when approximately 5 888 bales will be on offer.
